UniteMS.nl: community platform for people with MS and their loved ones

Merck Serono has realised an international community platform for MS patients and their loved ones. Merck Serono Nederland is responsible for activating the Dutch implementation: UniteMS.n

On UniteMS people involved with MS can share their experiences, ask each other questions, make contacts and keep up to date of developments in the area of MS. The added value of UniteMS is primarily the community platform and the way it is used. There are plenty of online discussion forums and comprehensive websites related to MS. However, forums often have little or no capability for sharing photos, films or documents. A community platform that connects MS patients is therefore new. UniteMS.nl also enables people with a positive attitude towards life to show that MS does not have to be the end of the line.
 
The role of KREM
KREM has appointed, Kirsten Wagenaar, senior community consultant, as the Community Manager to prepare and manage the launch of UniteMS in the Netherlands. She also has the operational role of attaining the goals of the UniteMS community in the Netherlands. The community will be further activated and developed by setting up a Twitter account (UniteMS_NL) and entering into a partnership with one of the largest Dutch MS Foundations, Het Nationaal MS Fonds.

UniteMS.nl is the first community to be facilitated by a pharmacology company. The community has been set up on an international basis with local communities. The goal of UniteMS is to serve the interests of the MS community. Legal agreements were set up in advance. There is also close cooperation with the Nationaal MS Fonds.
